How the Mighty have fallen...
Just suffered through a painful episode of Desperate Housewives, a show that in its first season showed promise as a soap opera-esque indictment of suburban living. I was forced to watch it because Kristi won't give it up yet. Fortunately, we both gave up Heroes this year, after keeping most of last season on our Tivo without watching it week after week. It was another show that lived one really good season and then couldn't make it happen for year two...
What is the problem with these shows? Too much success too soon? Too much to live up to? What causes shows like this to lose the spark?
And in my job, which requires a new "show" every week, how can I really think that at some point, we've lost the spark? How does one regain it?
Can you think of a show on television that "lost the spark" but then got it back?
