Ellie has already blogged about this so I'm late to the game, but whatev... Can't help myself, and since I'm using her pictures anyway, it's all good - you can see her post on this same topic here.
Yesterday, CCC downtown Naperville campus needed to call an audible on top of an audible. We were unable to meet in our plan B facility this particular weekend, so we met in the park. The weather cooperated and we had a great time. Since we were in the park, we chose not to try to do video, so we printed lyrics out to praise choruses (old school),
and needed to alter the service content since it had become a 'family service.' Since Elic and I are regular attenders at our campus, we decided to make appearances as beloved Kids' City characters Bob Blaughblah and Tony the Jersey Cow.
We wrote a little skit on the Big Idea and performed it to set the stage for Jon Ferguson's message.
But all of that was setting the stage for the real awesomeness: baptisms! Five were baptized at the end of the service, including Joe and Marj Archbold, who host our small group and are new and fast friends to both Kristi and me. It's so awesome to see God working through people and to get a front row seat for it!
