Here we go, the saddest of all theme weeks, when we realize how old we are when the contestants sing songs from the year they were born.
Danny - "stand by me" - cheating with this song. (1980?) He's starting so sound more like Michael Bolton to me every week, and that's not such a good thing.
Kris - "All she wants to do is dance" - My eighties heritage is being assaulted by this arrangement. Why can't I like this guy? There's always something. Earth Wind and Henley.
Lil' - "What's Love Got to do with it" - Well she didn't mess with the arrangement, but the verse is rough and reminds you only of how good Tina is. She came through in the chorus and key change, though. Will it be enough?
Anoop - "True colors" - I have to say he's much more palatable in this version of him than in the "I'm the hindu bobby brown" dance-off version. Palatable is the best compliment I can come up with.
Scott - "The search is over" - how can I convince you, that I can play guitar? He really needs to go home, and in a way, is reaching by playing guitar now - but really reaching for that ridiculous note towards the end - ouch! Will they call him on it? Doubt it, did you know he was blind?
Allison - "I can't make you love me" - It's a little mature of a song for her youth, but she nailed it. nailed. it. I totally don't get what she wears and her hair.
Matt - "part time lover" - He's going for full on Justin, desperate to stay in this competition. I wasn't crazy about it, but he's made a vast improvement from last week.
Adam - "missed it as my tivo cut out" - wow. If I'm him, I'm ticked. Seriously, is there a worse offense? But I found it on this website. And I'm embedding it below, just because I can. It was awesome.
So who's going home? Do Li'l fans believe the hype? I said it last week and I'll say it again. Anooooooop. But I'm hoping for Scott.
