Blonde Eric Part Two

Well, my Mom has weighed in on the "Blonde Eric" controversy. Perhaps this will shed light on the subject and get Troy off my back. She prefers the "original blonde" Eric, as opposed to the bleach blonde Eric that Troy is a proponent of. She scanned it and here it is. And yes, Mom, I know that I ended that last sentence with a preposition... sorry...

 

Aaron Sorkin takes the fall

Our own Pat Masek was in LA last week and texted me while in a restaurant, saying "I'm sitting next to Aaron Sorkin!"

I told her to tell him that we loved Studio 60. She didn't get a chance because he was giving an interview and seemed to be pretty intense and focused.

Apparently, this was the interview he was doing. From the LA Times, here's his explanation and/or apology for how the show that had so much promised fell to an untimely death...

Troy's Swan Song

Well, Jon mentioned it, as did Troy. Sunday marked Troy's last performance as a worship leader and campus pastor for CCC, as he is off to launch a brand new church in Kansas City. Here is an excerpt of the last song at the 11am service. We called an audible and played "We Will Dance." - an oldie but a goodie, for us anyway. If there was ever a "Troy McMahon Worship Leading Theme Song", this was it. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did - a lot easier to sing than "Point of Difference", anyway...

Loving the new Wilco CD, "Sky Blue Sky". It's very clean and pretty and sentimental. And I still like it! I don't know exactly what the heck they're talking about, but the music is gorgeous. Check it out.

Reproducing Yourself?

Okay - so not only is Dave Ferguson in the Phillipines (widely reported on his blog...), but so is Tom Greever, our Media Director extraordinaire. Apparently he has taken the whole "reproducing leader" thing very seriously, and has taken to signing copies of "The Big Idea" with Dave. Of course, Jon and I are the only other authors listed on the book - not that it matters - we're all one big team here at CCC - no one is really interested in things like "credit", or "identity." And now I have the pictures to prove it!

Troy McMahon has thrown down the gauntlet in his last days here in Naperville. How shall I respond? Let me know what you think...

They can't stop wanting to make God funny... more television news, this time from Borat and Seinfeld director Larry Charles and Bill Maher. It's a documentary shot in the Middle East seeking to talk about God and to be funny. Wow... That's quite a combo... read the TV squad article here...
