My Mug, Your Blog

Well, Dave Ferguson has already referenced it, but I figured that since my mug was up on the blogosphere, I should let y'all know about it so you can add it to your "favorites" collection of Eric sightings on the wwweb...

Tye from Cedar Rapids Iowa is pictured here with me during a portion of the Multisite Practicum Tyeandericentitled "PTI"... this is where I grab a mic and try to get as much info about each church's multisite experience in as little time as possible, while simultaneously making fun of them at the same time. It's one of my few chances each year to strengthen my spiritual gift of sarcasm, and it's often hard to pass up. Here is his post, entitled "Every Religious Trick in the Book"

I'm not sure what he was talking about with that prophets of Baal story. I think he might be slamming me, but I can't tell - I don't have the spiritual gift of "stretching a metaphor"...

Oh, and Tye - it's "Bramlett" with an 'A'... and yes, his name is Tye Male. I wonder if that name ever gets mispelled...

All that being said, had an awesome time with Tye and his team, and the rest of the gaggle of churches who are considering going multisite. I hope they rock the house and quickly. We can't build buildings fast enough, you know...

The Websurfing Jackpot Part Two

Singit Again... pardon the late breaking-ness of this totally cool website engine thingamadoo. It's called Let Them Sing It For You... go to the web site and punch in any set of words, and the engine will play a compilation of pop culture music goodness to construct your sentence - you can even email the "song" you've composed to a friend! Send me your favorite sentences so I can hear them in webstream stereo...

I need your advice...

Blogger_car Okay - I'm getting ready to sign on with a blog service - one that will compile all the blogs I read and tell me when they have been updated. But I need advice as to which one is the best - so send me your thoughts - which ones you use, why you do so - what features are the best to have and why. Help me, because literally, I have no idea where to start. I look forward to hearing from you...

Bono and PDF documents

Over on Dave Ferguson's blog, he posted awesome Bono content from the Prayer Breakfast. Jonathan wanted a PDF version, and in an effort to get more readers to my blog, I am proud to provide a PDF version of Bono's speech. Download here, and party on Mac users! And check out Dave's blog too. He's awfully cool.

Props to Dave Ferguson

Gotta love that Dave Ferguson. The second I launch my blog, he's the first one to post a blog entirely devoted to telling all of his cool church leader friends about it. Read all about me right here...

I'm waiting to get some props from Tammy Melchien on her blog. I guess my hope remains deferred for now.

Perhaps we are the only ones reading each other's blogs. Which is fine I suppose.

I was all set to start one of my famous rants on Christianese - you know, where I get all hot and bothered about the fact that "testamints" and "bible health bars" are cramming the counters of Christian Book Stores and cheap imitations of pop bubblegum groups are blaring on the sound system, trying to sell you their CD for 18.99 when you can get it at Itunes for half the price. God has a funny way of keeping me in check. I'm so grateful knowing that God truly has a fantastic sense of humor.

I walk into the yellow box at CCC - and at the ground level cafe, there is a bookshelf of sorts that houses games for people to play, checkers, chess and the like. And right there, in plain sight, is a Christianese icon to end all icons. Yes that's right, come to the GLC as soon as you can, and bring Gboardgame some friends to play a round of "Left Behind: The Game" based on the movie, which of course, was based on the book. Double Eek.

I was too stunned to remove it, but believe me, it will soon be gone. Remember what someone once said about "removing the plank in your own eye first?" That's my plan. And then all the specks of dust in the world just better watch out.
