Happy New Year!

Happy New Year y'all...

A lot of bloggers like to do a year end summing up and note their own blog posts from the past year. If you want to do that with my blog, knock yourself out, I don't have the time or energy to be that insular. The Archive is on the bottom right. So... have a great 09, and keep it real.

My new year's resolution is to stop reading/subscribing to blogs that disappear for two months and then come back with some post about "wow, I haven't blogged in a while, but I'm back!" only to disappear for another two months.

Now I have to think about whether or not I did that very thing in 08. Someone else will have to research that one.

Let It Be Christmas

You may have heard that we staged a musical last week called "Let It Be Christmas." If you missed it, here's a taste of what you missed. This video played over the live band performing "Hey Jude", and it follows the decision that our contemporary Joseph character makes, when he decides not to divorce Mary quietly. Enjoy. Are you kidding me?

After probably the first blockbuster action/sci-fi/adventure film to be nominated for best picture since Star Wars, (I'm forecasting)... the Dark Knight team is swirling around rumours that the next film will be called "Gotham" and will feature Eddie Murphy and Shia LaBeouf as The Riddler, and as Robin, respectively. I know it's just a rumour, but come on! Everyone seems to be denying it, but the source defends itself, saying it had it right with the new James Bond, and nobody believed them then. Hmmmm. U2 blazing yet another trail

When U2 releases its new CD in March ("no line on the horizon"), it will be doing so in five different formats, including vinyl. Once again, U2 is figuring out that more variety in offerings with an understanding of the digital world is necessary for an industry that locked itself into the CD format, protecting it for far too long. You can read about it here, but it includes not only a documentary film about U2, but a magazine style format, and several different options for digital download. And, oh, by the way, the music will be made by U2, so chances are, it will be really good too.

Missed a video!

The craziness of Let it Be Christmas show week meant that I forgot to post for your viewing pleasure last weekend's video sketch. Elic and I performed as lowly shepherds in a video sketch that was more vaudeville than anything else. Imagine lowly, dirty shepherds who are in need of a major change. Then throw in a bunch of corny Bible jokes. Mix it together, and this is what you get:

Flight of the Conchords

When the Sopranos used to be on HBO, Kristi and I would subscribe to HBO to watch the new season, and then cancel the subscription after the season was over. The last season marked the end of our HBO life, and while we enjoyed watching the Sopranos, we also found season one of Flight of the Conchords, a truly hysterical show about two hapless New Zealand rock band hopefuls. It's been a long time since we saw the duo, and apparently season two begins in January. I probably won't subscribe, but right now Funny or Die dot com has their season two premiere in its entirety, for free, right now. You can view it here.

Snowing

It is snowing. Big time. Lots of it, on top of sheets of ice. I'm staying put. Dress Rehearsal for "Let It Be Christmas" tonight. Should be fun, assuming anyone from the cast or crew will be able to get to the yellow box tonight in time for it! Help! (I need somebody)
