Anna-isms

My 3 year old Anna is becoming quite quotable. Here are a couple from our current travels to Phoenix for Christmas:

(On the plane, looking out at the land below) "look Mommy, I can see a map! It's a rock map!"

(When standing side by side with a large-as-life Raggedy Ann doll) "look, she's just my age!"

Beats pithy church sign quotes any day. Merry christmas!

Rental car shuttle

So I'm on the rental car shuttle in Phoenix and at a stoplight, the driver grabs a piece of paper and starts scribbling on it- it's a Sudoku (sp?) page that passes the time, apparently even while actually driving. Now I don't feel so bad about my occasional crackberry glances on the road!

What's in a Name?

Here's the video we wrote and produced for the new Christmas series, "Indescribable." We did a whole Christmas series based solely on one Chris Tomlin song, which is unfortunately, a lot less cooler than doing a Christmas series with the Beatles music, but hey, whaddareyagonnado?

Either way, a funny skitchell came out of it - stay tuned for part two featuring the angel's encounter with Joseph!

I Will Follow

Some might be curious as to my lack of posts over the last couple weeks. Been kinda busy what with Christmas, the Audible series, and a short film we shot last week in Chicago. The latter is something I'm really excited about. Not that I'm not excited about Christmas. Or Audible. Anyway, in January, CCC will begin a series called "Revolutionaries", and for the first time ever, we're creating a short film to coincide with the series and act as a companion piece to each week's content.

The film is called "I Will Follow", and is based on a one-act play that I wrote several years ago that was produces at CCC for a leadership conference. It was when we were first rolling out the "3Cs"... Celebrate, Connect and Contribute. The play imagined what would happen if John Wimber, John Wesley, and Jim Elliot hungout in a purgatory-esque bar and got to know each other.

The film does the same thing, (and adds Elisabeth Elliot in the mix) and last week, we shot it over three days in a beautiful space in Chicago. It was really fun to be able to make it happen. Of course, now we have to edit it, but still, it's very exciting! Here are some pics of the shoot... Stay tuned for more details about the independent film "I Will Follow", coming to a CCC near you in January!100_2380

Holy-er than Cheese

So we're at Chucky Cheese tonight, as some sort of parental torture experiment. To further the insanity, we brought our 2 year old niece, Pearle, who won the "quote of the week" award, when she called the mouse of the house "Chucky Cheesus." (repeatedly)

I need to talk to my brother and his wife to make sure that they're teaching my niece the distinction between mascot and savior... I wouldn't want her to get confused...

Home

Here is the video we used last weekend when we called an Audible for the services for the adults. You can read about that audible here or here. This video was made with very little planning time and given that, turned out remarkably well. We "borrowed" the highly successful concept of a "before and after" card that we saw at Willow Creek. Of course, we put our own spin on it, and it turned out well. Enjoy!
