Here's a new word for those of us in the Midwest winter:
"Overcompensalting" - what happens when a mild winter gives a few snow flurries, and the trucks come out and salt the roads like it's going out of style. Also suspected to be a secret deal between salt manufacturers and the makers of windshield wiper fluid.
